Whilst St Mary MacKillop P&F, South Penrith are in well deserved recovery mode and photos are still being edited, after a sensational day of celebrations yesterday, thank you to our community who came along and became part of our history books! Thank you doesn't seem like quite enough but it's a start. ❤️ To Kathy R & Chanelle V the incredible powerhouse who organised and facilitated the whole event from start to finish ❤️ Mr Brown, Mrs Lenihan & Jamie our Musical Masterminds who planned and entertained us for hours. Including the incredible Mr Darren W - you brought the whole house down and gave us all the feels with your incredible gifts. You know how to pull a crowd and fill a dancefloor! ❤️ Our incredible Community Choir who wow us again and again. Not only the voices of angels but inspiring all of our students to give anything a go and doing it with such enthusiasm and passion! You are one of our schools greatest blessings. ❤️ Our gorgeous Irish Dancers: Lucy L, Olivia S, Olive S, Sadie S & Ava S - you had everyone at a standstill clapping and cheering. The smile you bring to our faces is unmatched! Thank you for sharing your gifts with us girls. We are always in awe of your magic! ❤️ To our beautiful friends at Nepean Men's Shed. You are our biggest supporters and are always willing to give up your time for us - thank you. For everything. We are so proud to have you as part of our community ❤️ To our vendors and stallholders who put faith in us for our first ever Market Night - we thank you for your patience, understanding and kindness. You made our night spectacular. ❤️ To the wonderful Mrs Gillard, Mrs Joseph, Mrs Tredinnick, Mrs Estevens, Mrs Churchill, Mrs Groger and Mr Buchan who believe that anything is possible and hand in hand with our community, we continue to build something truly special - we thank you for giving up your time and your support always. ❤️ To our parent volunteers who always show up when the call out is made. This event is a testament to the love you have for your children, and families and the events you want to create for them. We thank you. ❤️ Did we say Mr Brown? Because we cannot truly express the gratitude and love we feel for all the greatness you bring to our school community.

What a fantastic day for our Stage 3 boys and girls teams! Our students showed great teamwork, perseverance and determination throughout the day, supporting one another, encouraging their teammates and giving every game their absolute best. It was wonderful to see them demonstrate such positive sportsmanship, resilience and a willingness to keep trying, no matter the challenge. We are so proud of the way they represented our school both on and off the field! 💛💚⚽️

Only a few more sleeps to go until our favourite day of the year! Bring your friends, your families and your neighbours too! Not only are we fortunate enough to celebrate Australia's only Saint, but as the Patron of our school, St Mary MacKillop's legacy lives on in our community and how we interact with one another in all we say and do. From 2:45pm our wonderful Parish Priests will be hosting a community blessing and we invite everyone to attend. Parent/Carers Workshop - St Mary MacKillop Friday 14th August 1:45pm-2:15pm As part of our Feast Day celebrations for our Patron Saint, St Mary of the Cross MacKillop we will be holding a parent workshop about Mary MacKillop in our school library on Friday 14th August from 1:45pm - 2:15pm (please arrive at 1:35pm). Everyone is warmly invited to attend this workshop which will conclude in time for our whole school assembly. RSVPs are appreciated for planning purposes.

Nanna's, Poppy's, Grandma & Grandpa's. Aunty's, Uncles, Cousins & Friends.. bring them all along to this very special Feast Day Market Night! Kayla R represented St Mary Mackillop Primary at the Equestrian NSW State Interschools Championship during the July school holidays. Kayla was among the top 22 riders in NSW to qualify for the dressage competition and achieved an outstanding overall seventh place in the state. In her one event she finished 3rd out of the 22 and the other 10th position, which then gave her a 7th overall. This was a remarkable result at an elite level of competition, and we are incredibly proud of her.

Next Saturday night we will be celebrating the feast day of St Mary MacKillop. To date, sadly only 4 volunteers from our whole school community have reached out to let the P&F know that they are available to help. Congratulations to Spencer in Year 6!!! During the holidays I got to see Spencer perform in a production of "Stories in the Dark", by Debra Oswald. I was totally amazed at how professional and talented their performance was. I would not have expected that a year 6 student could manage such a complex role and storyline so well. Well done Spencer and thank you for your performance.
