Last week our senior students were able to connect with our fantastic Catholic High Schools from around the district. It was an absolute pleasure to work with each of these school communities.
On Monday 25 February, we had the team from Xavier College come and visit to talk about the great opportunities at high school.
On Wednesday, Mrs Rowan and I had the chance to visit McCarthy College and tour the great new learning spaces there. We then hosted Mrs Cairns, Mrs Sparks and two students to talk with our children about the transformation that is happening at their school.
On Thursday we had our boys meet with Mr Ronchetti and Mr Walsh from St Dominic’s College to find out about the traditions of the school as well as the way quality learning creates opportunities for their graduates.
Also at this time, Mr Elliot and a team of students from Caroline Chisholm met with our girls. There are exciting developments happening to the facilities at present and this will translate to a better learning environment for their students in 2020.
If you have a child in Year 6 but especially if you have a child in Year 5, I implore you to take up the opportunity to visit our high schools during their Open Days and make an informed parent decision for your child’s schooling.

Today, our Year 3 students shared a beautiful Liturgy of the Word with their family and friends. Their liturgy centred around mercy and coincides perfectly with Reconciliation, with many of our students having made their First Reconciliation, on Tuesday night. The students were very reverent and reflective throughout the liturgy and were inspired to continue to show mercy every day by: being kind, forgiving others, helping those in need and treating everyone with love and respect, just as Jesus taught us.

๐โญ Today was R U Ok? Day โญ๐ Sometimes all it takes is to ask someone 'R U Ok?' During lunch time today, our school hall was transformed to a quiet and calming space where friends could connect, take a moment to themselves, and remind each other asking R U Ok? is kind way to connect and support one another. With relaxing music playing, a meditative under ocean video on the big screen, mandalas to colour, affirmation cards to fill in, chatterboxes to help pose questions, puzzles to work on together and some comfy cushions all around - our beautiful students were reminded of how important it is to look out for each other. We also asked our students a range of questions where they could add to the graffiti walls and remind each other of who we can turn to if we ever need some help. What a beautiful community to be a part of โจ

With thanks to the wonderful St Mary MacKillop P&F, South Penrith, today we continued our Book Week celebrations with an author visit by Jodie McLeod โ๐ผ There is nothing quite like the author reading their own story and what wonderful stories they were! Our imaginations were awoken and each student was inspired by Jodie's words of wisdom about how to write captivating stories ๐ช Thank you Jodie for visiting, and for helping celebrate Book Week with us๐ Lastly, a very special thanks to Mrs Tredinnick & Mrs Eisenhuth for organising this wonderful event ๐ซ
