Dance students impressed the crowd with a range of dazzling performances
Hundreds of students from 35 primary and secondary Catholic schools from across the Diocese showcased their creative talents in a series of music, dance and strings performances throughout June, culminating in the ‘Best Of’ performance on 23 June.
The showcase events demonstrated the high calibre of choral, music and dance work from Catholic schools, under the Parramatta Diocese’s creative and performing arts initiative, CAPTIVATE.
The program provides learning and performance experiences for students, as well as builds expertise and a sense of community across the system.
CAPTIVATE is very popular with five new schools joining the program since last year.

'Find happiness in making others happy' - St Mary MacKillop of the Cross These smiles say it all ๐ We thanked God for our abundant blessings which was led by the wonderful Fr Rojan - our Parish Priest from St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Penrith NSW We hope everyone who joined us at our first ever Feast Day Market had a magnificent time. Thank you to the wonderful Claire from Beans & Mash Photography for capturing these special moments for us. These events donโt happen by themselves, our P&F put a call out desperately seeking more volunteers and our community answered the call. From 4 volunteers to 24 basically overnight. To those who put their hands up and helped bring this event to life, itโs thanks to you that this very special event went ahead and was such a success. Whilst St Mary MacKillop P&F, South Penrith are in well deserved recovery mode and photos are still being edited, after a sensational day of celebrations yesterday, thank you to our community who came along and became part of our history books! Thank you doesn't seem like quite enough but it's a start. โค๏ธ Father Rojan who came and blessed us all for this very special and wonderful occasion St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Penrith NSW โค๏ธ To Kathy R & Chanelle V the incredible powerhouse who organised and facilitated the whole event from start to finish โค๏ธ Mr Brown, Mrs Lenihan & Jamie our Musical Masterminds who planned and entertained us for hours. Including the incredible Mr Darren W - you brought the whole house down and gave us all the feels with your incredible gifts. You know how to pull a crowd and fill a dancefloor! โค๏ธ Our incredible Community Choir who wow us again and again. Not only the voices of angels but inspiring all of our students to give anything a go and doing it with such enthusiasm and passion! You are one of our schools greatest blessings. โค๏ธ Our gorgeous Irish Dancers: Lucy L, Olivia S, Olive S, Sadie S & Ava S - you had everyone at a standstill clapping and cheering. The smile you bring to our faces is unmatched! Thank you for sharing your gifts with us girls. We are always in awe of your magic! โค๏ธ To our beautiful friends at Nepean Men's Shed. You are our biggest supporters and are always willing to give up your time for us - thank you. For everything. What a fantastic day for our Stage 3 boys and girls teams! Our students showed great teamwork, perseverance and determination throughout the day, supporting one another, encouraging their teammates and giving every game their absolute best. It was wonderful to see them demonstrate such positive sportsmanship, resilience and a willingness to keep trying, no matter the challenge. We are so proud of the way they represented our school both on and off the field! ๐๐โฝ๏ธ
