Last week our senior students were able to connect with our fantastic Catholic High Schools from around the district. It was an absolute pleasure to work with each of these school communities.
On Monday 25 February, we had the team from Xavier College come and visit to talk about the great opportunities at high school.
On Wednesday, Mrs Rowan and I had the chance to visit McCarthy College and tour the great new learning spaces there. We then hosted Mrs Cairns, Mrs Sparks and two students to talk with our children about the transformation that is happening at their school.
On Thursday we had our boys meet with Mr Ronchetti and Mr Walsh from St Dominic’s College to find out about the traditions of the school as well as the way quality learning creates opportunities for their graduates.
Also at this time, Mr Elliot and a team of students from Caroline Chisholm met with our girls. There are exciting developments happening to the facilities at present and this will translate to a better learning environment for their students in 2020.
If you have a child in Year 6 but especially if you have a child in Year 5, I implore you to take up the opportunity to visit our high schools during their Open Days and make an informed parent decision for your child’s schooling.

REMINDER: any child selected to represent St Mary MacKillop at the Girls & Boys Stage 2 Soccer Gala Day on Tuesday, 24th June 2025. The day will be held at Jamison Park, Penrith. REMINDERS FOR THE DAY: Your child will need to be transported to the ground on the above date by you or another parent whom you have arranged to transport. Your child needs to be at the ground no later than 8:20 am on the above date. Your child can be dropped off after 7:50 am, please not before. Your child will need to be collected by you or your representative to be taken home at the end of the day. (approx. 2:30 pm) If your child requires any medication on the day this must be administed by a parent or carer. All students will need shin pads, soccer boots (if possible; otherwise, joggers are acceptable), and tall soccer socks in our school colours: green, yellow, white, or black. Donation Drive Mufti Day for Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Friday 27th June The Year 6 students, as part of their learning in Religious Education this term, are organising a Donation Drive for the JRS Foodbank. On Friday the 27th June please wear mufti clothes and bring donations from attached to support refugees and asylum seekers in our community. Together we can make a difference! On Friday, 6th June Jovie (Year 2) competed at the Tamworth Country Capital Cup for gymnastics. Jovie completed vault, bars, beam and a floor routine. Jovie came 1st in vault, 11th overall and her team came 6th.

What's on this Week at St Mary MacKillop... Thursday, 5th June 9:15am – Grandparents Liturgy in the hall ** no hot beverages in the hall please. 10am – Grandparent Morning tea - hosted by our wonderful P & F For adults only – no students, due to WHS 10:15am – Open classrooms and Book Fair - Classrooms will close at 10:45am **Book Fair will close at 11am 10:45am – Lunch: Eating time for students 11am – Playtime normal school procedure return and all visitors are kindly asked to exit the school grounds so gates can be locked for a safe playtime for all students Friday, 6th June 2:20pm - Whole School Assembly (all parents welcome)
